First blog of the year...

Okay, so I should probably write all about New Year's resolutions and keeping them and losing weight and staying healthy and getting organized... But I'M NOT GONNA! I make resolutions, and I keep them to myself. I heard a therapist say once that if you tell people your resolutions they will more likely support you, and you will stick with them. Whatev... I want to keep my private... so there you go.

So what should I blog about for my first post of the new year? I honestly have no clue! I love movies... so lets blog about some of my current favorite movies!

1. Baby Mama. If you have never seen this movie, go rent it now... really, RIGHT NOW! This is basically the funniest movie I have seen in a LONG time! Honestly... I am so happy they made this movie!

2. I'm going to list Bedtime Stories because it IS Adam Sandler... and he is a comedy genius! It is family friendly, which is totally awesome! I loved the movie... but did you expect anything different?

3. Four Christmases. I thought this would be the DUMBEST movie... I am not typically a Vince Vaughn fan... but honestly, I laughed ALL the way through this movie! It truly reminded me of how honestly redneck my own family is! sorry family :)

4. Yes Man. Jim Carrey is AMAZING! This movie made me want to pee my pants laughing! Go see it! It is worth the 7 bucks, trust me!!

5. Bucket List. Great movie! Honestly, it is funny and touchy feely all at the same time! I did cry at the end, but they were happy a little sad tears.

6. Tuesdays with Morrie. But only if you wanna cry!

7. The Great Debaters. I hate racism!

8. Little Miss Sunshine... Just funny... not much more to say...

9. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind...

10. Monster-In-Law................... My ex-mother-in-law was 10 TIMES WORSE! I secretly hope she reads this blog!

Yep... great movies! Movies I wanna see right now:

1. Doubt
2. Milk
3. 7 Pounds
4. Marley and Me
5. I am Legend

Movies that just didn't make the cut:

1. Twilight. I did enjoy the books don't tell anyone. But I did not enjoy the movie. For one, Edward was not attractive at all! I honestly thought he would be amazing looking... but eh, not so much!

2. The Strangers. I thought it would be super scary... but nope... lame! It was really short and...... lame.

3. Knocked Up... It looked super funny... but Hellz no! It was lame!

Happy 2009!

I am.... Spoiled...

Okay, from my last post you can probably tell that I am spoiled. I really didn't want to write a post that covered the real meaning of Christmas. I know that Christmas is about charity and remembering Christ... I am Buddhist, and do not tend to believe that Christ is the savior of the world. I KNOW... Damn me now... But I do believe Christmas should be about the feeling, not the gifts. But, alas... I am spoiled, and I did get a lot of "stuff". I struggled to feel the spirit this year. There was snow... there were lights... there was music... I just missed the feeling. Listening to The Forgotten Carols usually helps.... Because I tend to be like Constance (Conny Lue)... I find Christmas to be too commercialized and overdone... But what do I do? I dropped a bunch of money to buy my family the "perfect gifts". I did get Marisa AMAZING star boots! I did get Parker the coolest skate park for his tech decks... I did get Rebecca a baby pig (a toy of course), that she LOVED! I did get Emily make-up... which she thought was SO grown up! I got mom everything she wanted... Why did I do this? Why did I spend my hard earned money on STUFF? Because I like to buy love... Or something...

But I am spoiled... and I did get amazing shoes, and amazing jewelry, and amazing books, and amazing STUFF!

So... what does this mean? I don't know..... I've confused myself once again...

But my shoes are amazing....

Santa came!

Well, it's official... Santa came. I must have been good this year! So let me break down a few fun things I did... and got, this year!

On Christmas Eve my mom and I listened to the book The Forgotten Carols, by Michael McLean. When I was younger my family went to the play every year. It is beautiful, and I LOVE it! If you haven't seen the play or read the book... you must!

"It tells the story of a nurse whose empty life is changed by her patient, John, who expands her understanding of Christmas. "The Forgotten Carols" are original songs from the perspective of characters such as the innkeeper who turned the young couple away or the shepherd who slept through the angel's announcement. Their personal accounts, until now, have been overlooked or ignored. Together, John and Constance discover what the world has forgotten about Christmas." (review found on www.amazon.com)

Anyway... check it out! I also made sugar cookies for my neighbors... which was super fun! I felt like a kid, but it was great! I of course saved a few for myself and my mom to munch on! They turned out pretty dang good!

My mom and I woke up pretty early today to open our gifts, as we planned to be on speaker phone while my sister and her kids opened their gifts... and after that my brother and his wife and daughter open their gifts. So, let me break down what cool things I got this year!

1. A locket which is basically something I've wanted FOREVER!

2. A St. Christopher necklace!

3. A Zen Day Planner

4. Scrubs season 7 DVD

5. Elf and How the Grinch Stole Christmas (the Jim Carrey version)

6. A cat and dog book

7. A camo thermal (and thermal jammies)

8. a jacket

9. A Toa Ching book

10. "Stand Back said the Elephant, I'm going to sneeze!" and "The Giant Jam Sandwich" (If you have not read these children's books... you MUST!)

11. Sharpies! All different colors!

And a few other things I can't think of right now!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

15 more days!

Okay, it's 15 days until Christmas! I am actually getting pretty excited. The packages I sent to my friends have gotten to them... I am done shopping... I am almost done wrapping gifts... My family party is on Saturday... I am excited. Everything is going quite well actually. I am getting an ingrown toenail removed tomorrow, YUCK! But, it will feel better after I'm sure. Today was the last day of my Personal Growth Seminar class for graduate school! I'm off until January 5th! I am off work from the 19th until the 5th! I can't wait until the 19th! We are only in school that day until 11:10.

I don't have much more to say, other than I'm still grossed out by the Oprah episode yesterday!

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder

Okay, I do NOT have Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)... I have Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder (OCPD) (or in my opinion I do). OCD is an anxiety disorder that is characterized by recurrent, unwanted thoughts and obsessions and/or repetitive behaviors. Repetitive behaviors can include hand washing, counting, checking, and cleaning.

Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder is a preoccupation with rules, orderliness, and control. The person often has difficulty expressing tender feelings, and rarely pays compliments. There is a big difference between OCD and OCPD.

BUT....... I think I developed OCD after watching Opera today. They were doing a show about OCD in which they made people touch the inside of dumpsters, toilet seats, floors, etc... and then LICK THEIR HANDS AFTER! OMG, are you kidding? Honestly, would perfectly healthy people touch the inside of a dumpster then lick their hand??????? I am thinking that would be H to the ELL NO!

So, I am quite traumatized and have banned Opera from my viewing material! How dare she create another mental illness for me?
