I really don’t want to tell this story, because basically i feel like an idiot… but what the hell? So, have fun reading this:
Last week I got a new blackberry curve. I like the phone, and decided to put my iphone on Ebay. So, I started the bidding price at $250.00… I figured I might get $300 if I was lucky. I didn’t get bids until the last couple of hours… then, all of a sudden I was getting bids for $900… $950… $1000! I was like, holy WTF? So, the bidding ended and someone bid $1100. It sounded too good to be true, but the lady e-mailed me right away and send she needed it shipped ASAP. She lives in London, so I figured it would cost quite a bit to ship, but I was getting $1100! I could deal with shipping!! So….. I send her a PayPal bill. A few hours later I get an e-mail from PayPal saying the payment was deposited, and I needed to ship the package. so, I get the address and go to the post office. Come to find out, the lady wants the iphone shipped to her grandson in Nigeria. Okay, now… hold your judgment… I am Naive! I pay $35, and send it off. I get home, check PayPal, and the money is NOTTTT there!!! So, I freak out… e-mail the lady, and she sends back a bunch of lies. So, yesterday I went to the post office, and I hope the shipment will be stopped before it leaves the country. If not, I’m out an iphone. How dumb can I be????? If it sounds too good to be true… It is!!!!!! The weird thing is, she had all great reviews on ebay… I don’t understand how she hasn’t be caught before. So, I get the idiot of the year award! But, seriously… how can someone fake e-mails from PayPal, have great reviews and all that?? The world sucks sometimes!
Well… in other news… My 12 year old nephew Parker is moving in with me. He has really be struggling in school and with emotions and stuff… and after talking a lot to his parents and stuff, we all decided a change might be good for him. So, he is flying from California today… My mom and I pick him up at the Salt Lake City airport at 4 PM. Tomorrow I will get him enrolled in the 6th grade, and all that jazz. I am nervous… but I’m also excited. I think it will really be a growing experience for both of us. I hope things work out. I hope the change will help him, and he will be able to gain some self-esteem and stuff. It will be hard for everyone involved… but I also think it will be good too. I know it will be really hard on his parents… and I’m sure Parker will get homesick… but we can work all that out! My mom and I are headed out to Salt Lake in a couple of hours! It will be a long day! We are driving there, picking him up, and driving home! It is about a 4 hour drive both ways!! It will probably be a long week!
